Kionio Sea House is located at the most unique and serene area of Ikaria island. Kionio cape is situated within half an hour of the island’s airport, of the port of Agios Kyrikos and of the center of Ikaria. The journey is beautiful and impressive via local villages and green mountains.
It is a villa with many views for all the tastes. Every angle has views that vary with mountains, sea-shores, archipelago, bright blue sky or endless star-lit sky and sunsets painting the landscape different colours every day. You can “escape” in your own private world of Kionio while still being close to the main amenities. Far from the civilization but close to bliss and well being.
Kionio takes its name from the ancient Greek word of column “kionas” because an Ancient temple used to be found on the cape, this magical site where the house is located today.
200 years ago a watermill was built on the cape in order to produce flour and supply it to the island. The location was perfect because of the small port at the bay of the cape, where the flour could easily be transported around the island of Ikaria.
The old watermill has been restored and turned into a unique house.
Villa Kionio Sea is a traditional house, which comprises of different buildings with bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen facilities. There is also a traditional wooden oven that can be used for cooking and a little church with a local character. There are also gardens with Mediterenean trees and plants as well as a private access to a small beach in the blue and fresh Aegean sea.
The villa can accommodate 15 persons in 7 rooms and 5 bathrooms.
The house architecture and its interior are traditional respecting the simple local style while it offers all the needed facilities for very comfortable holidays.
