Villa Alcesta

The villa has a magnificent view, looking out over the vast blue Sea of Crete, the beautiful islet of Mochlos with its Minoan ruins, the imposing "Kastelas" peak and other mountains, Mochlos and the nearby villages and the lovely farming landscape with its small plain, hills and foothills cloaked in silver-green olive trees. This is a magical, inspiring and peaceful spot.

Mochlos is a picturesque seaside village in the heart of a fantastic natural landscape on the north coast of Crete, between Sitia and Agios Nikolaos. The islet of Mochlos was the site of one of the greatest harbours and naval centres of Minoan Crete. The greatest and brightest collection of Minoan gold jewellery and diadems was discovered here.

Mochlos offers exceptional eating and recreational facilities. Picturesque taverns "lapped by the waves" offer authentic Cretan cooking, enjoy waters-ports and boat trips, go on nature walks with mountain guides, etc.

30 kilometres from Mochlos is the town of Ierapetra and 35 kilometres away are those of Sitia and Agios Nikolaos. All three towns have hospitals - health centres, urban services of all kinds, shops and amusement facilities.

Villa Alcesta can be used as a base for excursions to nearby places, such as: Sitia - Toplou Monastery - Vai Palm Forest - Minoan Palace of Zakros; Agios Nikolaos - Elounda - Spinalonga Island; Ierapetra - Chryssi Island in the Libyan Sea; Lassithi Plateau - Dictean Cave (birthplace of Zeus); Minoan Palace of Malia.

As soon as you pass along the paved corridor and enter the area of the luxury villa Alcesta, enclosed by stone walls and green fences, you feel completely at home. Here you can enjoy moments of peace and relaxation in the pretty corners of the villa, or uplifting moments as you muse on the high, spacious balcony with its wonderful view over the mountains and the sea. You can also cool off in your own 28 m2 swimming pool.

The villa covers an area of 150 m2 (not counting the veranda), set out on two levels.

On the upper level (90 m2) are:

• A spacious sitting room of 18.50 m2 with a view of the sea, the islet of Mochlos and the beautiful surrounding scenery. The sitting room is decorated in light colours and the furniture is inspired by the Cretan traditional style.
• Opening on from the south side of the sitting room is the fully equipped kitchenette.
• Two bedrooms, one of 12 m2 with its own WC, and a larger room of 15 m2 with a sea view and access to the veranda.
• A central bathroom with a hydro-massage bathtub, marble surfaces and all the necessary accessories.
• A 20 m2 veranda with a wonderful view of the sea, the small green valley of Mochlos, the surrounding hills and the mountains.

An interior staircase leads from the sitting room-kitchenette down to the lower level, where there are 2 bedrooms and a bathroom decorated in the same colours and containing similar furnishings and equipment of the same high standard.

Villa Alcesta is independent, ensuring full privacy with its own surrounding area, its own verandas, patios and greenery, its own swimming pool and its own parking spaces.

The sitting room includes luxury furniture with sofa, armchairs and traditional low table, Settee, Fireplace, 31-inch satellite TV and DVD player, Dual line telephones, Internet access, Full sound system

Each bedroom includes double bed or two singles with feather pillows and anatomic Coco Mat mattresses, two bedside tables with table lamps, spacious wardrobe, 100% cotton towels, Bathrobes & slippers, Hairdryer, 21-inch satellite TV and DVD player.

The fully equipped kitchenette opening on from the sitting room is equipped with a large table seating six.

All the rooms contain separate air-conditioning units.
