Fully renovated 300+ years old apartment is located in the heart of Kastro, the Venitian old town in the middle of Naxos’s main city. It is directly under the Monastery of Ursulines, and is best accessed by going through the Prantouna Kastro entrance, a 50m walk. Access by car is up to Prantouna square.
It is 2min walk from the Catholic church and all other “diamonds” of Kastro (Museum, Domus festival, 1739 bar etc.)
The house is stone built, and dates back to before 1800. The character and age of the apartment is shown through numerous carefully maintained ornaments, creating a unique atmosphere , luxurious but equally oozing a feeling of “old”. The renovation has been done following the stringent requirements from the Archaeology , avoiding the use of concrete and using only natural materials, like wood, natural chalk wall paint etc.
Its location ensures that even in the peak of summer months, there is perfect silence in the evening, despite being a stones throw away from the busy port and its nightlife. One can hear the sounds from the arrival of boats, the sound of the wind and feel absorbed in an 1800s environment.
It is a 60m2 apartment, with 1 bedroom equipped with a double bed and a/c. There is a bathroom with shower and a washing machine.
The living room has a 43” smart TV, wifi and a/c, and leads into the west-facing balcony that is also the entrance of the apartment. There are 2 sofas that can be used as beds if needed.
The kitchen is fully equipped and has access to a small balcony that can sit 4 people, facing east and in the shade.
There is a loft accessed through a short vertical ladder that can sleep 2 people, in an extremely cozy environment, under the wooden roof (not suitable for kids less than 10yrs old).
The living room is the “diamond” of the apartment. Through two 2m high windows one has amazing views to the port, the sea and Paros, creating a stunning atmosphere in the apartment. One can actually see the sea and the sky directly from the bedroom through a gorgeous stone-built arch.
All windows have mosquito nets and the renowned Papoutsanis Olivia amenities are provided.
