We had a wonderful three week vacation at Villa Pelmon. The pictures on the site don't do justice to the home. It is first class all the way through. The owners were most gracious and always available if needed. They welcomed us and explained about the home and surrounding areas. We highly recommend Villa Pelmon to anyone who enjoys total privacy in a modern and comfortable setting.
We were a group of 17 people (5 families) and everybody felt that this was probably the best vacation everyone ever had. The combination of great booking experience, most professional attitude from the site owner (Victor Camhis), the sheer beauty of the villa and surroundings had an incomparable impression on everyone, old and young (age ranges were 7-58). Victor has been available literally all the time from the initial thinking of renting the villa until departure from the villa. He arranged all the transports within Crete not only for the villa part of our trip but even for the rest of our vacation in Crete where we stayed in resorts. I would strongly and absolutely recommend that anyone looking for a villa in Greece comes to this site first. I would also urge anyone, with no hesitation, that if you find a villa that you like on Home Away, Airbnb, etc. come and check if it's available on this site. If it's available here, don't look beyond that and I assure you of the best service from start to finish. Victor has also arranged with Anna (the villa manager) to be the chef during our stay. We had her prepare our breakfast for the entire stay and dinner on most nights. She would do all the catering, sometimes multiple times a day if we have more than one meal. So, we never had to go shopping at all... She prepared delicious Greek dishes with delightful varieties for salads, main courses, and dessert. She's absolutely humble with a great attitude and professional services. And sometimes going beyond the call of duty. All this for very reasonable charges that makes her services so worthwhile. Anna also manages the housekeeping everyday with 3 female helpers that come for more than 2 hours everyday cleaning the whole house, refreshing all the bathrooms with new towels, soaps, shampoo, etc. with pool towels enough for everybody. Anytime we needed taxis (we needed 5 every time) , we would just call Anna and a few minutes later they're at the door. The villa itself is a marvel. The scenery is heavenly. One of our teenage kids said while looking at the sight through the infinity pool, this image is what I always imagined heaven is like. I don't really think that I need to elaborate much here. Please look at the pictures on the site. This is what you get for real. The villa has 8 bedrooms all with en suite bathrooms. I think this is very difficult to find. So, the level of comfort was maximum. 5 minutes by car is the village of Elounda, and 15 minutes is Agios Nikolos. Both have wonderful seaside restaurants with fantastic food and generous portions.. All restaurants serve wonderful complements at the end of the meal including dessert... Prices are extremely reasonable. Both places also have shopping areas with great Greek stuff. Agios Nikolos is bigger than Elounda so it provides for more dining and shopping options. The point is that with all the joyful time we had at the villa, anytime we needed to change, A taxi was waiting for us and we're in a very enjoyable place a few minutes away. We regret that we didn't make it to the beach, but it's only 15 minutes walk to the villa and the area from the top looks magnificent. The villa had also a tennis table which was a major fun activity for all. The villa had Sunbeds, lots of sitting areas inside and outside and just so much space that we couldn't believe that we were actually 17 people inside. Even when Anna comes every day with 3 other helpers, we never felt their presence. The 3 helpers are all Greek ladies who are so simple and just too nice and only one of them spoke English. You would feel so safe and secure with no worries at all. And the villa itself is 100% safe and secure with automatic outside gate and at night you may spot the light of a night guard who walks around with a dog. Regarding transportation, I would strongly suggest that you organize it through Victor or Anna because the largest vehicle that can make it on the uphill road that leads to the villa may only take a maximum of 11 people. Of course, nothing is absolutely perfect. There were 2 observations that I passed on to Victor. One is regarding air conditioning in the living area. For me it was fine, but for several people in the group it was not enough. All the rooms had split units but the one in the living room was central, so it needs to be upgraded. In the rooms, only one had a problem with the AC. The other 7 rooms were perfect. We fully understood that AC problems may not be easy to fix sometimes during the stay, but we hope that would be corrected in the future. The other drawback was the strong wind in the pool area. It would be extremely quiet at times and then it blows all of a sudden. and that happens several times every day. The only thing we regretted about that is that we couldn't eat our meals outside by the pool as often as we would have wished. We did several times but without the wind factor, we would have eaten there all the time. Especially, that the dining area by the pool with it's wooden shade was just so fabulous and serene overlooking that dream-like scenery from the villa. The dining area inside was also big and extremely nice. I stress that these drawbacks had very little impact on our enjoyment of this place and literally no effect on our exceptionally great experience. Dream Villa + beautiful location + unbelievable scenery + Wonderful surroundings (Elounds & Agios Nikolos) + great service (Victor & Anna) = Fantastic vacation.
