We stayed for 7 nights in Vill Eritta. The villa is absolutely fantastic, it looks exactly like in the photos. It is spacious, clean and well equipped. The pool area is lovely for sunbathing and you have a view of the ocean in the distance. The lounge area is very comfortable and there is plenty of space for dining both inside and out. Having a BBQ was also lovely for the nights we wanted to stay in and cook ourselves. The shower was great - very powerful and hot. The kitchen is very well equipped. Nice towels are provided for both the shower and pool. All the luxuries you could expect to find at a 5 star hotel! The owners were extremely responsive, friendly and helpful. The location is perfect for exploring Southern Crete. The quaint village of Sivas is just a two minute stroll away where there are a few lovely tavernas (Vafis and Sactoris). We visited Pitsidia, Matala, Kommos, Kalamaki, Agia Galini, The Ancient City of Phaistos, Zaros - all within a very short drive of the villa. I can highly recommend the Scala restaurant and Port Side bar in Matala as well as Delfini (Dolfins) restaurant in Kalamaki. Our favourite beach was Matala. After visiting these places we drove to take the boat to Loutro and walked the Samaria Gorge which I would also recommend. There is a local butchers in Sivas for buying meat and supermarkets are a short drive away in Moires. I would highly recommend this villa for anyone looking to explore the delights of Southern Crete.
We recently returned home from a wonderful one week stay in Villa Diantha, which is located on the edge of the quaint village of Sivas. The villa itself is beautifully decorated and furnished, and everything is brand new and in perfect condition. It is stocked with everything you could need – air-con, wifi, fridge/freezer, microwave, oven, dishwasher, coffee machine, comfy beds, hairdryer, separate bath and pool towels, TV, DVD player, sun loungers, deck chairs, large umbrellas and a lovely outdoor dining area. The pool area is fantastic and has plenty of space. We were lucky enough to be there when neither of the other two villas were occupied so we had the entire pool area to ourselves which was an added bonus! Our flight out to Crete was delayed by around an hour so we arrived at the villa later than we expected (around 11pm). However when we arrived Heike (the manager) was waiting for us and gave us a very warm welcome before showing us around the villa. One word of warning though – upon arrival we were asked to pay a EUR200 deposit (for any damages) which we had not been pre-warned about. Luckily we had enough cash to cover this but it was certainly an inconvenience. Whilst we spent most of our time lazing around the pool we enjoyed visiting the beach at Matala and also had a lovely meal out there one evening. Our favourite beach was Agio Forago but we only visited once as it is quite a mission to get to – a long and slow drive down a dirt track followed by a 30 min walk in the blazing sunshine (albeit a very flat and easy walk). We had many lovely meals in Sivas village which is only as 5 minute walk from the villa.
Phaedra villas is a great place to stay. The houses are new and everything you may need ist available (TVs, cooking equipment etc). The Pool area is very relaxing and looks exactly as published in the internet. A really great place to eat is just above the road (Avli of Kostas), Komos beach is in 5 minutes driving distance, Matala just a few minutes longer. We did not have any inconvenient, unexpected things to happen. This is definately a place to recommend and for us a place we will stay again.
We recently visited south Crete, the village of Sivas, and had an absolutely wonderful experience staying at Phaedra Villas. We chose to stay at villa Kastalia out of the three of the complex. The villa itself was beautiful furnished and decorated and the kitchen, which we extensively used, had every possible utensil. The bedroom with the very high ceiling was cool and relaxing. The place was spotless and the linen and towels clean and fresh. When we were not out and about we loved the afternoons at the veranda enjoying a drink and the splendid views of the Messara valley and the deep blue of the sea in the distance. The villa’s manager was there to welcome us and show us around when we arrived and available every time we needed something. I fully recommend staying at Phaedra Villas!
