This is an amazing villa complex for a group. We went as 4 families, 2 couples, 1 couple with a 4 year old and a 3 month old and 1 couple with just a 4 year old. The 3 villas were simply decorated - but quite beautiful, calm and welcoming, all just a little bit different. There was every amenity we could require, kitchen really well stocked - even brilliant coffee machines. We all loved our own outside eating spaces ( a 'secret' one for one of the villas!) The pool was beautiful, perfect size for our little ones, and also for the big ones to play water polo! Water was clean and a lovely temperature. Lots of parking, a fab taverna directly opposite (not that you would notice, very quiet), great food there and in the village which was only 5 mins walk away and has a little park for the children. Beds were really comfy and we were all impressed withte air conditioning that turns itself off if you have the doors open and particularly with the lovely shutters that make the bedrooms really dark and the air con in the bed rooms. Great bathrooms, showers were nice and powerful, more than enough hot water. The only thing we would point out if you are travelling with chldren is if you have toddlers there are a lot of stone steps inside and out, at 4 years old our 2 boys were fine (and we had 8 adults keeping an eye on them) but if they had been younger I may have been a little worried as some were unguarded, but otherwise facilities for the children were excellent, even a cot and high chair for the baby, the boys were very excited by the bunk beds too! Great welcome, mid week visit to check we were Ok, regular pool cleaning and a change of linen. Fresh fruit, water and a few other things to welcome us was a lovely touch. Only 5 - 10 mins in the car to lovely beaches and we loved our visit to the local Donkey sanctuary (also has peacocks, goats, cats, dogs, and geese). Can't praise this facility enough. Communication with the host before and during the trip was great, really quic responses, very friendly and helpful. 5 stars all round :-)
We have enjoyed a wonderful stay here at Villa Agnes. It is our first visit to Crete and we have been spoilt! The villa was very confortable, the pool was great and we loved the peace and tranquillity. Whilst here we have enjoyed Kalyves, visits to Chania and Rethymnon… The restaurant Provlita in Kalyves is excellent. Also “Sterna Tou Bloumosifi” in nearby Vamos is a lovely taverna – again, good food and atmosphere. We’ve enjoyed our stay here so much. Efcharistò!
Thank you for this wonderful experience and for being such a great host!
We have loved our honeymoon stay in the beautiful Villa Agnes. We particularly loved splashing about in the refreshing swimming pool whilst seeking in the incredible snow-capped mountain view. It has been the perfect base from which to explore the wonderful island of Crete. We loved visiting the beach at Georgioupolis, with its romantic chapel. Vamos is a picturesque village, wonderful for a slow stroll enjoying the pink climbing flowers cherfully cascading from the buildings. Lake Kournas is wonderful to take a pedalo and explore the edges looking for elusive turtles, whilst enjoying the goldfish. The Samana gorge walk is challenging but simply breathtaking with new stunning views around each twist and turn. This was our first visit to Crete and we can’t wait to come back again!
What can I say? What a stunning house, with spectacular views – made us feel part of timeless and unchanging vista. There were 7 of us, enjoying on what the area had to offer – along with its of lovely fascination!
