Villa e location incantevoli, proprietari squisiti
Magnificent villa with awe-inspiring views of the island
Villa Matia offered us one of the most amazing stays during our wedding week on the island. Our villa was exceptionally furnished tastefully combining island tradition and minimalism. Fabrics were sumptuous (from linens to beach towels) and the entire villa was focused on functional details optimizing our experience to the fullest extent. The hostess (Marietta) demonstrated an exceptional level of customer service making our mornings even better with their traditional homemade breakfast (from traditional pies to freshly baked muffins, you could just ask for whatever you wanted to satisfy your cravings). The spa facilities and the villa's private pool with the stunning island views completed what was a unique experience for us. Planning to visit again soon!
I was a guest of friends renting this spectacular villa; they are not the sort who do reviews, so I thought I would. Wow. Even the drive was wow. Enroute I stopped off at the Corinth Canal - wow. Cafe Stork above the picturesque port of Epadivros - wow. On the way back to Athens I popped into The Ancient Theatre of Epadivros - wow. The villa itself is huge and obviously - wow. Modernest and stylish but not clinical, as I had feared. Every window and there are a lot of large windows, framed a different part of the villas 360 degree views. The practicalities like beds, bed linen, towels, robes, safes, mosquito screens, air-conditioning, music stations and toiletries all delivered to a high standard. The kitchen made us all want to cook - a beautiful room and very well equipped; with a second butlers kitchen for the private chefs our hosts engaged for two nights of my stay. The villas Butler, Mr Yanni set up breakfast every morning and took us to the best places to buy fresh local produce. Our host chartered a motorboat for day trips and we saw a pod of dolphins twice in one day - wow. Several of us went to the islands of Spetses and Hydra, some by water taxi, some by private charter, some by ferry. We had a spa day at the nearby Amanzoe Spa, went to a Church blessing ceremony in one of the 3 local villages. Some of our group took a boat to Monamvassia, some went to the town of Nafplio. And all of us went paddle boarding, swimming and beach combing. Simple tavernas and more fancy restaurants abound. The villas Manager/Host and Mr Yanni were a mine of information about the area and really helped us engage with the region. All in all….wow... sums up the whole trip.
This luxurious villa is on the hilltop of a small village called Kilada overlooking the sea. We knew Our trip was going to be amazing from the warmest welcome received by the team. The villa itself is spacious, modern, very well appointed and fully equipped. It also has a massive pool or if we wanted with a very short minute walk we were just by the beach. THE sunsets you get to witness from the villa are just unreal. Everyday the sky would have different colours which I have never witnessed before. If you want to grab a bite somewhere else or experience the night life you good visit the small town of Portoheli or take a boat ride to Spetses. We preferred to stay in the villa as we had all we needed and we were mainly looking to relax and recharge our batteries. I would definitely recommend this property if you are looking to explore another part of Greece and aim to relax, have fun in and luxurious ways. We will be back. thank you
The location is amazing - from a hilltop location a perfect 360 view on the sea, mountains and countryside, from sunrise to the most beautiful sunset over the sea and mountains. Three pristine pools - including the biggest pool (20m) I have ever seen in a rental villa plus two small paddling pools...and the best beach for miles around just 100m away from the house... A vast amount of amenities for all tastes...(from 5 star level toiletries, to a host of robes, beach towels, even tooth brushes for all guests in case you forgot yours, and supplies of everything...including birthday candles, which we happened to need...) But all this is nothing compared to the exceptional service and care from Mr Yannis, the dedicated house butler who will set the breakfast for you, squeeze fresh orange juice every morning, bring you shopping to nearby Kranidi to buy those perfect greek sweets and will even go so far as to rush to his house to fetch the perfect bottle of white wine for that fish we were cooking for lunch! I have rented houses across the Med for nearly 30 years, nothing comes close to this. We'll visit again!
